Must Have Skin Care Baby Products

AB68133C-F8AD-439C-B499-3AC9D35C69A6
Today I am going to be talking about some of my favorite baby products that I love to use on my two princesses. As most of you know, I have an almost two year old, and I have been using the same products on her since she was born. Now having our new edition who is two months already (Wow! Time really flies by quick), I am also using the same products on her as I did when my toddler was a baby baby. These items have worked for me and I find myself going back to it because I believe that, if you find something that works for you, just stick with it.

AD1680D1-FAB4-4B85-9B2B-1791B62297B81. Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion. This lotion is the fragrance free for my two month old. Like I said, I used this particular one for the toddler when she was a baby so I find it very smooth on their bodies and that’s why it’s my “go to” lotion for babies. I love the fact that it is paraben free and phthalate free. This lotion contains natural colloidal oatmeal which helps to protect delicate skin. It leaves skin moisturized for twenty-four hours. My baby’s skin feels soft, smooth, and healthy. My mom recently even complimented her skin and she asked me what I use on her body.

2. Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort Lotion. This Lotion is lavender and vanilla scented which also comes with natural colloidal oatmeal and also leaves skin moisturized for twenty-four hours and helps calm babies before bedtime. I love the scent of this lotion and, when people give my toddler a hug, they usually tell her that she smells good. Now the secret is out 🙂 This also comes in a bath format and it contains everything the lotion has including tear free which is important to me.

3. Baby Vaseline. I can say so much on this right here because I carry it in my purse 24/7. When my toddler had a bad diaper rash, I tried so many products even to the extent of going to the pharmacist. Nothing worked until my older brother told me to go back to the old school method. This means putting on Vaseline and letting her walk around with no underwear or diaper around the house. I did this for two days and you won’t believe the drastic change that happened. Everything went away and it left the affected area very smooth. Since then, I use this product SO MUCH!

4. Johnson’s Baby Oil. This product is just amazing that the entire family uses it. It works so well and we love how it feels on our bodies. I use it a lot on baby Promises’ hair because it just smells good. It’s also Paraben free and dermatologist tested. Once your body is moisturized, it leaves skin soft and silky.

We have come to the end of today’s blog and I am very thankful for each of them. Leave a comment below and tell me which of these products is your favorite and why. Enjoy the rest of your week and I’ll catch you in my next one.

It’s Been An Amazing Week

2F552B33-22D0-4E5B-AE52-4A3A471FF398

What an awesome, wonderful week I’ve had with so many kids getting their lives changed. This past weekend, we also watched a veteran who has never owned a home receive his first home. It was such a blessing and an honor to be able to host another year and see lives changed, especially in this generation. We hosted four girls this year and they always leave a note for their host homes. Here’s a picture of one of the notes that touched my heart.

Anyway, the whole event was very successful because it was a teamwork and everyone worked hard in different areas.

After the successful week, hubby and I took the kids for the first time to New York to visit some friends.  We spent quality time together on the ride, which was about three hours to get there. We caught up with our friend Melissa who was also at the youth conference my church had this past week. I guess we didn’t get enough of her time so we decided to go spend some time with her. We are forever thankful for Melissa and all she did for us with making our trip a memorable one.

We then caught up with a great friend of mine whom I’ve known since college and I was also in her wedding. Now, we both are happily married with kids. It was just lovely to catch up and the kids enjoyed each other’s company. We ate great food and had great company and beautiful sceneries. These are moments I cherish and won’t forget. Hence to why I take so many pictures and document them for our kids so that, when they get older, they can always look back to see what daddy and mommy were up to while they were little.

Most of the trip was vlogged and will be coming out on my YouTube channel this Saturday so be on the lookout. Meanwhile, enjoy the rest of the pictures.

Thanks for reading and I will catch you in my next one.

Every little moment counts so appreciate those around you, whether they’re there for a temporary season or for the long haul. Today, I’m reminiscing on how I went from being a mom of one to being Mama Kizzy and Promise. It’s not even been two months yet but I’m getting the hang of things little by little. The pictures I’m sharing with you today are just my little way of appreciating the journey I’m going through. I’m grateful for what I have and excited for where I’m going. A lot of people that play a big role in my life might not be included in these pictures but trust me, it’s a big team. I hope you enjoy sharing this space with me and please share some of the moments you cherish whether past or present. Leave it in the comment section below! Happy Thursday and know there’s always something to be thankful for!

Today’s blog goes out to Siara Snyder aka My Little Sis. This young lady is very knowledgeable and I’m very proud of who she’s becoming. Recently, she spent almost an entire week with me and she was a great help! Siara is also now volunteering at our church summer camp for the entire summer but, before starting, she took it upon herself to spend time with her little sister, Kizzy before getting busy.

Just in case you didn’t know, this young girl was in my wedding and she was my announcer. She was the cutest little girl then and, now, she’s growing too fast! She has a heart to love and share her knowledge. In terms of correction, she receives it well and doesn’t give room for negativity. She has a special place in our heart and she knows it.

87041153-AA02-41CA-BFB1-137CA158BD08
The day she got home from her little vacation with me, she got a call that her grandma was at the hospital. She is such a strong girl because she composed herself when the family received the news. Now, let’s fast forward to today. Her grandma is recovering very quickly and God is in control of that situation. This little sis of mine continues to work very hard by staying busy and keeping her mind focused. Thanks again Siara for being you!  We love you!

Thanks again for tuning in and please show Siara some love by sending her encouraging words that will strengthen her as she continues to do what God has called her to do.

Promise is one month already??? Where did time go? I’m loving every bit of it and I’m blessed to be able to share special moments like this one below.

5AE59228-117E-46EC-A726-EBCCE2968415
At one month old, Promise sleeps very well at night time. She wakes up once for a feed and falls right back to sleep. She’s very calm and peaceful. Her big sister however, was quite the opposite when she was one month old. I barely got any sleep between hubby and I but we sure survived those days 🙂

One thing I would say is that, when Promise is hungry, she’s ready to eat and that means you better be ready with her food :). Hmmm I wonder where she gets that from. Her big sister loves giving her kisses and little Missy loves it too. She enjoys bath time to the point she falls asleep while bathing or when I’m giving her a massage (oh what you do for these little ones you adore).

0CA8A716-D232-4A65-949E-923B79E6A041

Don’t want to bore you with stories about Promise, but I am very thankful to have moments like this with her. She lights up our world especially in days when things seem to be stressful. Just look into her big brown eyes and you will be alright.
Thanks for tuning in and I’ll catch you in my next one. Remember, no matter what you may be going through, there’s always a reason to give thanks!

Cheers xx

Thankful Thursday

A lot has been happening lately in the news world. From racist comments made by a popular actress, to a well known pastor asking for millions of dollars from his congregation to buy a private jet, to a married couple whom a lot of young people look up to now deciding that they want to quit their marriage and “explore themselves separately,” especially after having a child. Also in the news disclosed that a fashion icon committed suicide, leaving her husband and their thirteen year old behind to figure out life, plus so much more. This is why I’m very thankful to use this platform to shade light to the darkness this world is portrayed to be. These things has to stop.

Racist comments, no matter their form, are not acceptable at all and, if you know people who are racist, don’t laugh at their ignorance, rather challenge and correct them. I can address each of those news that I mentioned above, but that’s not what I want to focus on today. Let’s talk about the fashion icon, Kate Spade, who chose to take her own life. Leaving her husband and her thirteen year old daughter behind. Nobody will ever know the full story as to why she decided to do this but it’s between her and God.

Today’s Thankful Thursday is to people going through depression, stress, or whatever situation you may find yourself that makes you want to isolate yourself from the world. Please get out of it and go seek help. Find people you trust and go talk to them. Isolation is the plan of the enemy and you don’t need to give in to it. Be thankful for the people that God has placed around you. Sometimes they’re there for a season and sometimes for a lifetime. Try as much as possible to have a Praise moment whereby you begin to sing praises and shout with gratitude for all the things you have whether big or small. This act will make you not to focus as much on what you don’t have or how bad your current situation is. Trust me you are not alone. Somebody out there has it worse than you.

Remember, an idol mind is a devil’s workshop so stay being THANKFUL. Thanks for hanging out with your girl as always and I’ll catch you in my next one.

We had fun with this amazing family taking pictures by the water. This was taken during Memorial Day and that’s how we spent it. The Hicks’ and Ikotun’s came together by the Eastern Shore to visit Pop-Pop, a military veteran who fought in the Vietnam War. We took over the entire Shore city, well not quite but a good portion of it 🙂 It was a day filled with lots of laughter and we couldn’t end the day without taking pictures. This was one of many unforgettable moments we as a family will cherish.

Bethany, our amazing photographer, captured it and hubby helped as well when needed (That’s why you won’t see him in the group shot we took). Check out her Instagram page @bethanyjphotography.

I am very thankful for this family inviting us to come spend a day with them. Everyone enjoyed it including Kizzy who was taught how to throw sea shells back in the water. It was the cutest thing.

Seeing her little tiny hands go up and down in the air as she was throwing the shells. Then, when it fell in the water, she clapped for herself while having a big smile on her face 🙂 Oh! She is too adorable and we love her so much.

Promise enjoyed the peaceful breeze as she slept almost through the entire time. She cried once for feed and that was it. Overall, I am very thankful to have friends that we call family because they made us feel at home.

I’ll let you enjoy the pictures for yourself because it was a day filled with love and laughter. I hope you had a good Memorial Day with your loved ones? What did you do and how did you spend it? Leave a comment below

Thankful Thursday

Hello Family!! It’s Thankful Thursday today and it feels good to be back doing what I love to do which is taking you along the journey I’m riding on 🙂 Hope you didn’t miss me too much.

Well, just in case you missed the memo, I had a baby girl and she is so adorable. Her name is Promise and she has been doing great since we’ve been home. Family and friends have been over helping me and I would like to use this moment to say a huge “THANK YOU” to all of you that called, texted, stopped by the house, FaceTimed me, and even brought me some delicious meals. I feel so special and I’m blessed to have such a supportive team on my side, so thank you again.

This blog is dedicated to the super moms I have in my life. 32027039-70E6-4091-A33B-996C6DA4A95F

A7A9A70F-D4B7-4DF1-83F5-9EE5F97E2AD4.jpegMy mom stayed a whole week with me making sure I regained my strength back. Taking care of not just me but our toddler Kizzy and hubby too! This was a blessing and I couldn’t have had it any other way.

Peter’s Mom blessed us by taking Kizzy on a weekend and she had a blast. I was able to focus on Promise and myself without worrying about Kizzy. These two amazing women have been a great blessing because I can say that I feel refreshed and ready to conquer the world 🙂

Thank you to my bestie, hubby, who has been extremely supportive keeping the house in order. He is so hardworking and loves his girls unconditionally. Babe, I know you’re outnumbered but we love you so dearly. Thank you for the little things you do in the house without saying a word. Trust me, they never go unnoticed. You are amazing and I love you so very much.

Anyway, I appreciate all of your love and support during this time. Let’s continue this journey and hope you enjoy the ride with me.

Thankful Thursday

Can we all agree that this might be the last “Thankful Thursday” I’m writing while pregnant before baby #2 makes her debut? Fingers crossed that my next “Thankful Thursday” will be about baby #2 making her debut. So you ask…what’s Adaku been up to these days while waiting for baby? Well, I’m glad you asked 🙂 It’s been a lot of cleaning and organizing of both my toddlers clothes and new baby clothes. I must say that it has been very therapeutic just going through old clothes and bringing out some of the things I had put away when I had our first child. It’s like “here we go again” for the second time. I know that mothers out there can relate.

Sometimes, while I’m organizing, Kizzy is scattering something else! I know she’s being a kid, but gosh! Who has time to be folding what you already did all over again?! I still have mad love for her no matter what. It’s amazing how you can have a heart to love your first child and still continue to extend that love to your second. We just can’t wait to meet our little princess. By the way, if you haven’t watched my cleaning video, check it out by clicking the video clip below.

Another way I’m getting myself ready for our baby girl is by doing a mental detoxification. This is where I do less of social media and focus my mind on other things like reading books. I picked up reading the book I co-authored last year again to get inspiration from other authors in the book and it’s been an amazing read. If you’re looking for inspiring stories that make you say “ ahhh! You’re telling my story” then you need a copy of this book.

6294A962-DE0C-42B3-9ED7-56E58C951326I know I don’t promote it as much but once you get a copy, you’ll thank me later. Here’s the link to amazon where you can grab your own copy.

https://amzn.to/2JpdWib

Another book I’m excited to read while I wait is a book hubby just got called “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind.” Look, I don’t know about you, but I know that, one day, I’ll be a millionaire but I also know it doesn’t just happen. Hence the reason why, as a business woman, I want to know all it takes to get me there. This book is on Amazon as well so grab a copy and let’s read together. Hubby pushes me to read more and I’m thankful for that because we both want to keep growing spiritually, financially, etc but to do that we have to read more. Thanks to our senior pastor Bishop Bart Pierce who has been saying to us that “Leaders are Readers!”

I am just thankful to have people who push and motivate me even when I’m pregnant. Success starts from your mind. Don’t limit yourself and you need to stop giving excuses as to why you can’t. Your best days are ahead of you, not behind, so get up and stay motivated!

Thanks again for following me on this wonderful journey and I’ll catch you in my next one 🙂

So here it goes…

Surprise!!! As hubby drove in to his parents house, I was welcomed with a BIG SURPRISE from all my loved one. In case you’re wondering, I had a surprise baby shower this past weekend and it was nothing but AMAZING. I was so speechless that, by the time I went across the party area to greet everyone, tears were rolling down my cheeks. It was impeccable. I had no slightest idea how hubby pulled it off without me finding out especially, when I try to be like a private investigator in putting two and two together 🙂 Hubby even bought a whole outfit for me to change into and he had a friend at standby ready to do my makeup. Can you believe that?

There was joy and laughter in the atmosphere as people were walking by. The weather was extremely perfect just for that day because, the next day, we had crappy weather. Lots and lots of food was available for all to eat. They even had a host and DJ. The event was well coordinated. Everyone worked hand in hand to make it successful and it was such a beautiful surprise shower. Obviously, you can tell I was in shock and that’s why I waited until today to get my thoughts together and say a big THANK YOU.

To all of you who worked extremely hard to make this happen, this blog is for you. THANK YOU so much for keeping it as a secret even though it’s no longer a secret and I know right now you are free 🙂
To Victoria, Dana, Donna, Daniela, Julie, Kristin, Darlene, Bethany and Lisa a HUGE THANK YOU for just being your loving, giving selves. You made this day an unforgettable one!

To my one and only hubby: you know I can sit here and write a book but I’ll make it short this time 🙂 THANK YOU so much babe for being the best husband any woman could ask for. You amaze me in so many ways that I can’t explain. I have no doubt that you will continue to exude the love you have for Kizzy and I to baby #2. You are so AMAZING and I love you dearly.
